Design Concept

The EVA Ayanami Rei Keycap Set is inspired by the iconic character Ayanami Rei and Unit-00 from Neon Genesis Evangelion, combining futuristic mecha anime aesthetics with modern mechanical keyboard customization. This keycap set contrasts Rei's serene, cool-blue pilot presence with mysterious dark mechanical elements, offering both a light Standard design and a captivating Shadow Effect.

The design captures the quiet depth and psychological narrative of the EVA universe, where pilot duty meets biomechanical intrigue. By integrating NERV emergency interfaces, SEELE monolith icons, Japanese Katakana sub-legends, and character portrait artwork, this set transforms your keyboard into an authentic EVA tactical command terminal.

The dual-tone concept allows users to express different visual moods: the clean, icy sky-blue and white palette reflects Rei’s gentle, classic uniform aesthetic, while the stark black and crimson accents bring out an intense, mysterious Shadow Effect across the desk.

Design Details

This keycap set features a precise mecha sci-fi style with detailed character illustrations and official-style EVA HUD graphics distributed across the layout.

The main typing rows combine soft ice-blue keys with crisp white alphabets, framed by high-contrast black functional modifiers. Custom novelty keys bring memorable lore details to life: detailed Ayanami Rei portraits on the vertical Enter and Tab keys, NERV logos, SEELE eye symbols spanning the direction/numpad cluster, "AYANAMI Rei 00" mechanical ID markings on the spacebars, and emergency warning panels across the function rows.

The overall design harmonizes deep mecha anime culture with functional layout organization, making it an extraordinary centerpiece for both high-energy gaming builds and themed anime workspaces.

About Aihey Studio

Aihey Studio began in 2023 with just three people—a designer, an artisan, and a dream to create something meaningful.

We don’t tell fictional stories. Everything here is real.

We design and curate keycaps that blend creativity, craftsmanship, and personality. At the same time, we work with independent artisans to help bring their work to more people.

We keep our margins low, focus on quality, and put care into every order—because we believe good products should be both beautiful and accessible.
